Records[edit]

The Scale Soaring article says records were set in Argentina, and I've repeated that here. It would be good to know more: official or unofficial, national or international, what sort of record etc. I've not managed to find any other mention in the sailplane, Flight archives etc. Scale Soaring do give the distance flown in one flight but don't say if it was a record. How many? =[edit]

Appears to be some confusion in the article as far as I know three Viking 1s and one 2 were built:

112 Viking 1 "BGA415" was impressed and soc February 1942
114 Viking 1 "BGA416" after returning from Argentina became G-ALRD then back to "BGA416"
118 Viking 2 "BGA426" impressed and crashed on a flight from Farnborough
119 Viking 1 "BGA425" impressed with maintenance serial 3384M

Should we mention the two-seater Viking 2, was they only three Viking 1s ? MilborneOne (talk) 23:16, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I've added a comment on the sole Viking 2 and a wl to it in the text and also the infobox. On the numbers, Ellison has 4 Viking 1s, the three you list plus c/n 111, which he says (p.253) went to Argentina without a BGA Cert.TSRL (talk) 08:48, 29 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
