Claims such as "Scar is widely regarded as one of the best Disney villains of all time." require citations lest they potentially violate WP:NOR. -Silence 11:20, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

I added one proof from Ultimate Disney's Villains Countdown - Scar is at #3 [1]. Anyone else has more links to prove it? Chris1219 12:33, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

Spoiler Tags

Should each section have a spoiler warning, since each section spoils a different plotline? or does the one warning at the top do it justice?--Swiftblade21 04:22, 22 March 2006 (UTC)

I think so! 62.139.85.165 22:18, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

  • Sorry, but I don't see that image on Scar's page. --Starionwolf 04:35, 1 July 2006 (UTC)

Image:ScarinHercules should be replaced by Image:ScarinHercules2.jpg on the page.

Simbafan34 23:46, 21 July,2006 (UTC)

Any particular reason? I found a much higher quality image. Blue Phoenix 11:04, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
Who cares about higher quailty image. One of the images in the article Kopa is low quailty so I don't care Image:ScarinHercules I think should be replaced with Image:ScarinHercules2.jpg.

Simbafan34 13:36, 22 July,2006 (UTC)

It makes articles look a bit nicer and more professional. Blue Phoenix 13:50, 23 July 2006 (UTC)
I don't care again I think Image:ScarinHercules2 should stay in the article.

Hercules section

the Hercules section of the article should stay. Simbafan34 23:46, 21 July,2006 (UTC)

I strongly disagree. It's too short and could easily be placed in the "other media" section, rendering it pointless. Scar did not have a major role in Hercules. Blue Phoenix 11:02, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
I think it should who cares if Scar did not have a major role in Hercules it still appeared in a film and it doesn't matter if Scar did not have a major role in Hercules it only matters if I should make a section about it and keep it.
Simbafan34 23:39, 26 July,2006 (UTC)
The section is pointless. It's an incredibly brief appearance. Scar is not supposed to be Scar. He does not speak - heck, he isn't even alive. It counts as a very minor cameo. Making a section for it would be like making a new section in the Hunchback of Notre Dame article about Pumbaa or Belle's appearance. It makes no sense. Blue Phoenix 00:00, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

Irony?

"The cameo is ironic in the sense that, during the opening scene of The Lion King, Mufasa and Zazu fantasize about turning Scar into a lion-skin rug."

I don't get what's ironic about this. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 160.39.146.136 (talk) 19:03, 5 April 2007 (UTC).

Hmm...

I'm drawing some interesting parallels from this video here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NKOJ5bEKPLY&mode=related&search= —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Wassamatta (talkcontribs) 22:00, 26 April 2007 (UTC).

Barbary Lion

Should we be saying Scar resembles a Barbary Lion? I assume that's based just on his mane...— Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.209.197.212 (talk) 1 May 2007 (UTC)

Let's be rational here. . .

Could someone please remove the comments that Scar is an allegory for Adolf Hitler? I personally find that offensive, as Scar has done absolutely nothing to deserve such a vile title. I mean, if you're gonna call someone Hitler, call the rascist one Hitler. Scar wasn't rascist. Mufasa was. But that's an entirely different story all together, and I'm pretty sure you don't wanna hear it, which is good, 'cause I don't wanna tell it.

And don't give me this "hyenas were goosestepping" bs. So the Nazis goosestepped. So what? So did the ancient Romans, and you don't see anyone attributing the goosestep to them. Heck, you still see people in China goosestep today!

Watch as someone calls me a Nazi now in spite of the fact that my father was Jewish. Oy vey.

Edit: Never mind. I did it myself.

Oh for Heaven's sake, he's an evil genocidal dictator with a God complex, that sounds pretty Hitler-like to me. And might I enquire as to why Scar has been installed into the category of Fictional characters with mental illness? After all despite being evil he never gave any sign that he was insane.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Tz0o (talkcontribs) 24 May 2007 (UTC)Tz0o (talkcontribs) has made few or no other edits outside this topic.

Fair use rationale for Image:ScarinHercules2.jpg

Image:ScarinHercules2.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Atheist?

Why is Scar listed as a fictional atheist? I don't recall him ever mentioning God, religion, or even some form of spirtiuality at all. I think we should remove him unless there's some line I'm missing in one of the sequels or spin offs. Ash Loomis (talk) 01:26, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

I concur. I'm going to remove the tag. Anyone who disagrees is free to express their opinion here and make a case for putting it back. --Mwalimu59 (talk) 02:22, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

Backstory: Fanon?

The last half of the backstory section seems to be mostly speculation. Unless someone can provide some sources, I believe we should cut it.

12.207.126.21 (talk) 04:46, 8 September 2008 (UTC)Connington

It is certainly fan speculation as well as being terribly written. --Jupiter Optimus Maximus (talk) 15:46, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
Removed the paragraphs in question. Not only is it fan speculation, it is not even accurate as fan speculation goes, since Ahadi is often portrayed much more favorably in fanfiction and viewed thusly by many fans. It might be noted, too, that while The Lion King: Six New Adventures is generally considered an "inferior source" where it conflicts with the later movies (most notably the Kopa/Kiara debate), it is viewed as an acceptable one where there is no conflict, as is the case here. --Mwalimu59 (talk) 21:01, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:Tlk6nataka.jpg

The image Image:Tlk6nataka.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.

Similarities to Hitler

I think Scar in many ways recalls Adolf Hitler. His charisma, his private army and the way in which the hyneas goose-step during 'Be Prepared' all point to the similarities between the two.

True but I think the only bona fide connection Hitler that Scar has is the raising of a private army and coup. Today Hitler is most remembered for his genocide and starting a very large war with a very large bodycount. Scar did neither. In fact I think the Disney baddy who has the most similarities to Hitler is Claude Frollo, not Scar. --24.46.117.40 (talk) 15:29, 11 November 2009 (UTC)

Music

ChangedForBetter, Can you include info on the deleted reprise if Be Prepared after he becomes king, and how this morphed into a song in the stage musical (The Madness of King Scar)--Coin945 (talk) 23:28, 30 July 2014 (UTC)

Taken care of in the "Conception" section.--Changedforbetter (talk) 22:15, 4 August 2014 (UTC)
