Wrong Devil's Tongue[edit]

This article lists one of the common names of the plant, "Devil's Tongue," but erroneously directs a link to an entirely different plant. I am removing the link. rowley (talk) 05:50, 3 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Taxonomy[edit]

Recent classifications put Sansevieria into Dracaena (see APweb). This hasn't yet been adopted here. Whether or not the genus belongs in Dracaena, it's now in the family Asparagaceae, subfamily Nolinoideae, which replaces Ruscaceae. Peter coxhead (talk) 16:02, 24 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Air Purification[edit]

this is all pseudoscience and should be cleaned up and reported on a bit more objectively. Please see http://plantsarethestrangestpeople.blogspot.com/2008/04/indoor-plants-as-air-purifiers.html for a very well done and object report on the matter of air-purification and plants.

Sansiveria sp. is a plant so, yes, it produces oxygen - day or night. Its suitability for placement in bedrooms or in bathrooms or in a box with a fox is all subjective and doesn't have a place in this article.

News[edit]

This name is a synonym, see Dracaena --Zeljko (talk) 22:12, 12 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, and the article really needs drastically reducing, since the species all belong in Dracaena. All that's needed here is a brief account of the former genus. Peter coxhead (talk) 22:38, 18 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
