History[edit]

I would have put in more history, but I haven't been able to discover yet when the original station was built. The line was opened in 1847, but Saltaire did not exist until the 1850's (Salt's Mill opened in 1853). --ColinFine 18:49, 7 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Metro Proposal[edit]

The relevant text currently reads "West Yorkshire Metro have announced plans to improve the station, providing a ticket office and heated waiting rooms. The announcement is dated for release on the 1st of June 2004 and it is unknown if the plan is still current."

On 15 Mar 2006, User:84.70.107.245 added the comment: "Yes it is but may take ages to implement", without any references. Subsequently User:84.70.191.143 replaced this, as well as the link to the plan and the factual information about its date, with "It could be a long time before this is implemented." While I accept that the 'it is unknown ... ' formula is barely encyclopaedic, it seems to me that this is even less so, and furthermore the reference has been removed. I cannot see how this is an improvement, so I have reverted it. ColinFine 16:13, 19 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
