Strange sentence[edit]

"The category of classes sailing yacht is among those officially recognized by the International Sailing Federation". This sentence is grammatically wrong but I am not sure what it is meant to mean. Is it trying to limit the scope of the article to yachts in some officially sanctioned category? Billlion (talk) 15:28, 7 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! This is a note to let the editors of this article know that File:2013 Ahmanson Cup Regatta yacht Zapata II b photo D Ramey Logan.jpg will be appearing as picture of the day on February 19, 2017. You can view and edit the POTD blurb at Template:POTD/2017-02-19. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page. — Chris Woodrich (talk) 07:34, 17 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Sailing yacht
A sailing yacht is a leisure boat that uses sails as its primary means of propulsion. Sailing yachts are actively used in sport and are a category of classes recognized by the International Sailing Federation. Shown here is the Zapata II, built in 1964, during the 2013 Ahmanson Cup in Newport Beach, California.Photograph: Don Ramey Logan Jr.

Name[edit]

There is a term Sail Cruiser . Not sure if it refers to a different class of sailboats. 213.149.61.151 (talk) 23:28, 21 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
