S Ramachandra Reddy[edit]

Personal life S Ramachandra Reddy (born 6 September 1944),was a Indian politician from Penukonda,Anantapur district.He belongs to Kuruba [1]caste.He married to S Gayatramma.He has 2 sons and three daughters.One of his daughter Savitha started SRR charitable trust on his name. Political life He started political journey by joining Telugu Desam Party.In 1983,he contested from Penukonda won[2] as MLA by defeating the independent candidate Gangula Narayana reddy.Later in 1985[3] also he won by defeating G veeranna of Congress Party.This time he became Minister in N. T. Rama Rao.He served as minister for Industry and Ports [4]and Chairman of Backward Classes Welfare Committee.But he lost[5] to S Chenna reddy in 1989 elections.In 1996 he won [6]as MP from Hindupur (Lok Sabha constituency) By defeating S. Gangadhar, with 172,422 majority.But in 1998 he was defeated[7] by S.Gangadhar. He died in 2005 at the age of 61. Kuruba suresh (talk) 09:07, 26 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
