It's a difference of a year, but because it falls beyond March 25th, it can't be chalked off to being due to OS/NS dating. Medlands is basing this on a single annal, Annales Blandinienses, and annals aren't always the most reliable. However a second annal, Annales de Bourgogne has 987. Europäische Stammtafeln II, 5, states he died 30 March 987 (ES II, Tafel 11 verifies Rozela (Susanna) remarried Robert II abt. 1 April 1088 as Arnulf's widow). In addition to ES II, 5 & 11, and the second annal, is this by Andrzej Poppe, 'The Political Background to the Baptism of Rus': Byzantine-Russian Relations between 986-89', Dumbarton Oaks Papers, Vol. 30, (1976), p. 232, makes the marriage between Suzanna (Rozala) of Ivry, the widow of Arnulf II, as being before 1 April, 988. It seems this verifies ES and others in dating Arnulf's death to March 30, 987 and her marriage to Robert II as "probably even before the first of April 988". It would allow the traditional one year of widowhood prior to remarriage and also Robert II could not have heard of Arnulf's death for at least a week or more, given travel times. So it could easily involve months to arrange the marriage to Rosala (Susanna). Based on what we both have it seems March 30, 987 is the preferable date for Arnulf's death.
