Time story[edit]

The article originally cited Rodney Stich's book Disavowed for several claims. None of Stich's books are RS, so a 'citation needed' tag was added to these two years ago. Since no one has come up with another source for the claims in two years, I have removed the claims as well.

In addition, the Time story originally cited in the article ("Press: CIA vs. ABC". Time. 10 December 1984.) is by no means useful or even relevant. Time reported how a two part ABC World News story in September 1984 claimed that a man named Scott Barnes had been hired by the CIA to assassinate Rewald. The CIA denied the story and ABC eventually issued a 'clarification' (apparently in distinction to a retraction) that Barnes's "charges cannot be substantiated and we have no reason to doubt the CIA'S denial." The CIA was not satisified with ABC's 'clarification' and filed a complaint with the FCC. The filing of the complaint, the main point of the Time story, is not relevant to this article. I see no reason to cite Time's report about ABC's flawed news story in the article, and have therefore removed it. The NYT story on the trial mentioned above is very relevant, however, and should be a part of the article. I will add it in the near future. Rgr09 (talk) 02:46, 7 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Death?[edit]

An IP editor updated the article to indicate that Rewald died on December 25, 2017. I can't find any sources (reliable or otherwise) to support this, so I've removed the claim. Pburka (talk) 04:10, 14 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
