Riverside Cemetery[edit]

At the stateline between the state of New York and and state of Pennsylvania in the United States, Riverside Cemetery is now perched directly at the edge of the main water pool of the artificial Kinzua Reservoir. Historically, the Kinzua Valley was home to homes, businesses and farms (and Riverside Cemetery near the headwaters of the Allegheny River) before it was totally flooded with a hydroelectric dam installation. Now, a crossing of the Kinzua Valley can be accomplished in a matter of minutes using watercraft. Beadtot 20:26, 3 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sports[edit]

Riverside is also a term used in football practices to tell the players to run the drill in the opposite direction. This originated in Pittsburgh, the Steelers practice fields are between the river and the railroad tracks. Notfound 13:25, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

FYI there is also a club song called Riverside from Sidney Samson. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.250.167.18 (talk) 21:16, 7 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The Rivserside School in Lyndonville, Vermont[edit]

Since the Lyndonville, Vermont article does not refer to The Riverside School, I initially added an external link to The Riverside School's web page. After reviewing the Wikipedia:Manual of Style (disambiguation pages), which states that disambiguation pages should not contain external links, I decided it was best to remove this reference entirly, since it does not help disambiguate anything found on Wikipedia.

Riverside, California[edit]

One of the guidelines for Wikipedia is to "be bold", but I hope I haven't overstepped that by placing Riverside, California at the top of the disambiguation list. I do believe though Riverside, California is the most common location somone might be searching for. When you do a Google search, Riverside, California is the most frequent location found. To help aid navigation (the primary intent of disambiguation pages) I placed Riverside, California at the top. I hope this does not offend. I would be interested in knowing if you have a different perspective. MissionInn.Jim (talk) 02:44, 25 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

RiversideRiverside (disambiguation)Riverside, California is WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT. No other place or city has the same amount of prominence as that city and the usage of "Riverside" to mean "river bank" is unlikely, especially as one word.--Prisencolin (talk) 23:48, 30 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

How about making bank the primary redirect.--Prisencolin (talk) 18:33, 31 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose in European usage "riverside" as one word is common enough and certainly doesn't suggest a town in California. In ictu oculi (talk) 07:02, 31 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose This is quite a lengthy disambig page, suggesting that there is no primary topic. Keeping this as it is makes it easier to spot incorrect incoming links. I don't think the place in California would represent a world-wide view of this term. For example, if I was asked, I'd say the Riverside Ground is the primary topic! • Oppose - I just fixed 2 separate articles linking to Riverside which refer to Riverside (band) - introduced in this edit and this one. And I doubt that these links were introduced by the same person, since one of them was done by an account with 0 edits (including deleted) ouside of that one article. So there you have 2 different people who, about 24 hours apart, made edits which prove that they think that Riverside (band) is the primary topic. עוד מישהו Od Mishehu 13:33, 31 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. This is a common name and the California city is not particularly well-known. olderwiser 15:10, 31 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose – the term was many meanings, and no good case for primarytopic has been made; "No other place or city has the same amount of prominence as that city" does not begin to address the criteria. Dicklyon (talk) 05:51, 1 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose due to overabundance of entries at the Riverside disambiguation page. The primary topic at such a page would need to be a world caliber city. The energy devoted to this proposal may be spent attending to other unnecessarily disambiguated entries (analogous to Van Nuys) at Category:Neighborhoods in Los Angeles. —Roman Spinner (talk)(contribs) 10:07, 2 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
