Not that kind of opera house[edit]

While what is now known as the MSU Riley Center may have been called a Grand Opera House, this has nothing to do with opera ever having been performed there. It is actually called Grand Opera House because of an old standard used for theatre classification when it was built. Grand Opera House refers to a collection of specifications in the facility, such as stage size, number of seats in the house, and backstage space size.

As such, I have removed the erroneous link to Opera House and replaced it with a more fitting description of it's current status.SmartestChild (talk) 00:52, 8 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Page Move[edit]

I feel like this page should be moved from its current title. Almost no one refers to the building as the Grand Opera House anymore; it is more widely known as the Riley Center. The problem is I can't quite figure out where to move it? Riley Center? MSU Riley Center? Mississippi State University Riley Center? Anyone have any ideas? --Dudemanfellabra (talk) 00:53, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'd say "Riley Center" per WP:COMMONNAME. If there there happens to be more than one Riley Center then it should disambig-ed with "Mississippi State University", which doesn't seem to be the case (although there is a Riley Center, Michigan; not sure if a hatnote or disambig page will be needed for that). On a side note, a double infobox using {{Infobox theatre}} might be useful to add as well. Niagara Don't give up the ship 19:00, 31 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I've moved the page and set up all the redirects. --Dudemanfellabra (talk) 03:52, 2 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
