Programming tools section[edit]

Quoting from the article: "Typically these versions were cumbersome ... also because of the insufficient programming tools/languages at the time".

The programming tools in the early 2000s were not substatially different from now. Also the GUI needed for FX trading is not more complicated to make than a lot of other computer applications like CAD programs, word processors etc or even computer games in which a lot of effort goes into making intuitive to play.

Probably programmers are getting more and more aware that their users are not IT experts so emphasis on making good GUIs have increaesed. That said: Since early 2000s also the programmes tools have improved and perhaps made it a little easier to make good GUIs, but that is no "excuse" for not making them good 10 years ago. Basically any GUI you can make today you could have made also in 2000 disregarding the differences in hardware performance.

Confusion subject[edit]

Its unclear what this article is trying to address as number of different terms redirect here and even the title and subject dont match up. Although software is a key part of fx retail trading, this article seems to merge these subjects in a very unclear way. Perhaps it could be split into two articles one that deals with the retail fx market and one that talks about the software or it could focus on the retail fx market and the article renamed and the software discussion moved into a section that specifically talks about the development of fx trading software.Sargdub (talk) 03:31, 22 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
