hearing aid zinc-air[edit]
Is a standard hearing aid zinc-air battery a reserve battery? If so, this is a very common civilian use. -kslays (talk • contribs) 20:01, 28 February 2011 (UTC)
- I'm not a battery expert, nor do I play one on TV, but I would think that would be a good example. The battery doesn't produce useful current until you tear off the tab.
A so-called "dry charged" car battery is the same idea - they are stored without electrolyte but the shop adds acid when it installs the battery. Nobody calls car batteries "reserve batteries" as a result, though it's the same principle.--Wtshymanski (talk) 20:22, 28 February 2011 (UTC)
