Range Claims[edit]

We only have the Renault press release claiming this 2+2 seat vehicle can achieve range of 160 km; it has not been verified by any independent means, and there is reason to doubt it is true. The 2-seat Tesla Roadster sports car, which weighs ~200kg less and is much more aerodynamic with its low profile, would just barely achieve 100mi/160km (published specification of 4.6 miles / kWh) with a 22 kWh battery, with no passenger cabin air conditioning and with above freezing temperatures for the battery. Lithium Ion batteries are known to temporarily lose some capacity at cold temperatures, and there is no indication Renault has temperature controlled this 'quick drop' swappable battery. Accordingly, recommend changing the article ala "Renault claims via press release a range of 160 km for the Fluence ZE, though this has not been independently verified" Tesla Roadster Renault Press Release 128.29.43.2 (talk) 23:01, 20 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

As an owner and daily driver I can attest that I have achieved 130 kilometers on a single charge. I regularly get 110 kilometers without much effort.

Chameleon charger option[edit]

Life Time and Service Quality[edit]

It seems Renault has promised a 10 years warranty for the battery pack. Many Fluence ZEs now have extremely low capacity and ranges decreased to 50-60 kms per charge of 8 hours. Currently Renault does not comply its obligations for warranty, ie responding to customers with conflicted comments and yet Renault service is not replacing the drained batteries. I must say this is a total dishonoured behaviour.

Given the above situation, all "remaining" Renault ZE users are forced to "leave" the ZE story behind. Either by accepting a fossil fueled exchange at unfair costs or just by getting rid of Renault ZE as it was an industrial waste. What a failure.
