Reorg/Rewrite[edit]

I am in the process of updating the wording of the article overall, and adding information from related articles. Amongst several issue is the use of present tense for historical information ('then X does Y' instead of 'then X did Y') and contradictions between this article and others. I am also trying to address the paucity of inline citations. Please be bold and fix problems you find instead of reverting. Of continuing concern are:

  • The 48 Revolution and Figueres Presidency section needs an expert's touch. The other articles related to the period conflict with each other and I do not read Spanish, so the pertinent sources are not accessible to me. Based on what I can find, the section as it stands is cherry-picked history that doesn't really make sense besider the bios of the key players, and the first sentence seems to hide a multitude of sins.
  • The structure and content of the Welfare State and Carazo's crisis section does not match the title. I would propose to change it to The End of the Reform State and move the first paragraph to the section above.
