Ah, the police, the press, and the family spokesman. While I have some doubts (very large ones), it was reported as such.

The family spokesman was quoted here:

“To me,” Tony Gricar said, “it looks like it absolutely knocks out the theory of foul play.” But he’s quick to add that this is just one fact in a complex mystery.

“Everything has been, still is, in that circumstantial realm,” Tony Gricar said. “But I’d be a fool to say that I can rule out or can’t rule out homicide at this point.”

Family Site[edit]

I am removing the link to the "family site" for two reasons:

1. It is a copy of the Wikipedia page, down to the photo.

2. It is unclear if the family is still maintaining the site; their original contract ended in May or June of 2010. The site had been down since late November 2009.

"Brush Valley" is not Brush Valley Township[edit]

I took out the link to Brush Valley Township. That is a small rural township in Indiana County, PA, about 70 miles southwest of Bellefonte. It's on Route 56, north of Armagh.

The large valley north and east of of Centre Hall is known as Brush Valley; it is Centre County. Route 192 runs through it. As the police indicated on the television program Disappeared that a witness saw Mr. Gricar turning onto Route 192 at Centre Hall. Rebersburg is located in the Brush Valley. J. Penn State sex abuse scandal[edit]

Should we place a mention in this wiki entry related to the Penn State sex abuse scandal given Gricar's involvement as Centre County DA at the time the initial investigation into sexual abuse allegations by former Penn State defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky. Gricar originally closed the case upon deciding that no criminal charges would be filed. This is all mentioned in the Grand Jury presentment of the Sandusky case, Gricar first mentioned on page 19. (See Sandusky Grand Jury Presentment.)
