Odd thing

When I was 12 years old (in the 1970's) I was asked to sing at the funeral of my Great Uncle, Ray Evans. I was told he was a songwriter and given a list of his songs to look at. They had brought his body all the way from Los Angeles for the burial in Utah. Now, as I look online, I see that supposedly he is still alive. I'm curious, was the whole funeral a lie or is the person living NOT the real Ray Evans? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.235.222.247 (talkcontribs) 15:21, 25 May 2006 (UTC)

Re: Odd Thing

I had the pleasure and privilege of working with Ray Evans and Jay Livingston in the 80's. The Ray Evans who penned such standards as Mona Lisa and Silver Bells was a remarkable man and will be sorely missed. He passed away February 15, 2007.

Peter gunn theme

I just cant get enough of the Peter Gunn Theme written by Henry Mancini. I have learned Jay Livingston and Ray Evans also made lyrics for this song. So I went for a search. I found the lyrics themselves but not a version of the song where they sing the lyrics. Perhaps someone can tell me who the performer was. I found some information Sarah Vaughn was the singer, is this correct? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.205.1.116 (talkcontribs) 15:37, April 1 2007 (UTC)

Moving this page to Ray Evans (songwriter)

What are the thoughts of moving this page to Ray Evans (songwriter) as there are a couple of other people with the same name who are also famous enough to have wikipedia pages. If this article were moved then everyone would automatically go to the disambiguation page and chose the one they were looking for instead of ending up here first. Thoughts? The question is not whether there are other notable people with the same name - there are many people, for example, named "John Adams", but the primary topic for that name is the President. The question is whether there is a primary topic for "Ray Evans", and whether this is it. bd2412 T 15:24, 23 July 2012 (UTC)

Graduation Date and Honorary Society

I have changed Evans' graduation date from 1937 to 1936, having checked his college yearbook, "The Record," University of Pennsylvania, 1936. The correct date is also given in the finding aid for his archival papers at the University of Pennsylvania, which I have used for citing the complete sentence. I also removed the statement about his membership in the Pi Gamma Mu honorary society. Evidence of his membership is not among his archival papers, nor in his yearbook, and correspondence with the Executive Director of Pi Gamma Mu International Honor Society in Social Sciences further confirms he was not a member:
