Hey merge it imediately !!!!1 i when created the article "Rashidun army" i just moved it to "Rashidun Caliphate army", thinking that when some one will write "Rashidun army" or Rashidun Caliphate army" the same article will be opened ! but i shocked when i saw it have became a totally different article..... plz merge it, i dont know how to merge !

Neutrality[edit]

This is an excellent article, but requires some rebalancing to bring it up to the standards of similar articles Military of ancient Rome, United States Armed Forces or Byzantine army. The current article reads extols the army in every way (tactics, strategy, organization and conduct) and reads like an advertisement.

Remarkably little critical analysis of conduct, given that the army was responsible for imperial conquests.

Lack of Sources in the Strategy and Bows section...[edit]

"Another remarkable strategy developed by Khalid and later followed by others generals"

I changed that. This strategy was not thought by Khalid. It was a strategy which was developed by Al-Muthanna ibn Haritha during his conquest of Persia.

"During the conquest of Persia, Arab archers were noted to be using very heavy arrows, referred to as "bolts" by Persian witnesses, that possessed exceptional armour piercing capability at short range. One Persian chronicler wrote that while the light arrow shot by Persian archers would often be stopped by the Arab padded clothing, the Arabs' own bolts would tear through their opponent's hauberks and "double cuirasses"."

What is this? Where is the source on this claim. I've read many battles fought between Rashidun army and Persian Sassanid army and most Muslim chroniclers described that Persian arrows were much more lethal than Arabian arrows. Though it was possible that Rashidun army might have modified their arrows into better armor-piercing version to counter the Persian arrows, I would like some source on that. 113.210.7.181 (talk) 00:18, 20 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Is the motto a joke?[edit]

What is the source for the motto? (the motto says "God, the nation, the revolution, the unity")

The words "the nation" (Al Watan) and "the thawra" (the revolution) are clear anachronisms, so please reconsider this bit.
