Complete Video List[edit]

The list of Randy Rainbow's musical-parody videos is currently far too long to be a selected "best of" but is woefully incomplete to be a complete list. Considering his current enormous popularity, I think a complete list would be helpful. I have a complete list, in the form of an Excel file, but I lack the skills to translate it into a Wikipedia table. If anyone with the authority to keep the result up would like to do that, post a reply here and I'll contact you to give info on where I've stored the Excel file. (Which contains: title, date of release, and info on the original song - its title, composer, year of release, and stage musical or film if any in which it first appeared.) All his videos are stored on his YouTube channel, and I'd encourage anyone using my file to double-check it against that. Kalimac (talk) 05:47, 7 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Most Popular Work[edit]

How about we add a section listing his top three most popular video works? SoftwareThing (talk) 17:38, 22 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think we need a section for that. The "Career" section should identify his most noteworthy works. Mentioning a few of those that are most widely known – for identification purposes – would be appropriate in the lede.

Video list[edit]

Missing video Vote. I'd add an entry but I don't know the original song. -- curtvprice 19:18, 27 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Controversy section[edit]

I just noticed the changes Encyclopedia Lu made to the controversy section. I'm torn on if they are an improvement or not, and I'm also torn as to if the controversy section should be in the article at all.

  • I feel like the changes made water down the language. For example: "about 60 tweets" is more specific and impactful than "several dozen of his tweets".
  • I also feel like the changes made improve the flow of the section, making it smoother and easier to read.
  • I like that with the changes we are no longer saying in Wiki voice that the tweets are transphobic and racist. But I dislike the fact that we are now using weasel words rather than saying who is describing the tweets as transphobic and racist.
  • Then there's the issue of having a controversy section at all.
    • Per WP:CSECTION controversy sections are usually a bad idea, but that is an essay, not a policy or guideine, and there are a LOT of articles that have controversy sections.
    • I think if there is a separate controversy section, there ought to be more than 2 sentences in it.
    • It seems like this incident about the tweets may be being given undue weight by being placed in its own separate section, rather than being more integrated with the rest of the article.

At any rate, I thought it might be a good idea to begin a discussion about these issues. ~ ONUnicorn(Talk|Contribs)problem solving 18:08, 22 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Picture[edit]

I've been having a hard time trying to add a good picture to this article. All of my other pictures have gotten deleted for copyright reasons or because the information I added about it was incorrect. I feel like this article needs a picture. Can someone help me find a good, quality picture to use on Wikipedia? BeatBro (talk) 02:14, 23 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You might want to add the URL of the youtube video, rather than just saying "youtube" (on the image page) Use the .com URL rather than the .be one. Usually in less than 24 hours someone previews these new images and either approves or disapproves them.   ▶ I am Grorp ◀ 05:50, 23 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
