Ramya or Divya Spandana[edit]

According to WP:COMMONNAME, we should be using the article name as Ramya and not Divya Spandana. - KNM Talk 15:57, 28 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Divya Spandana is referred to as Divya Spandana everywhere else but in Kannada cinema. She responds to Divya Spandana and not Ramya. Furthermore, the Kannada film industry is relatively unknown. Furthermore you don't call Shriya Saran Shriya do you? Respond within two days or we'll have to revert this. Universal Hero (talk) 23:39, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
All your above claims seem to be clear original research. Please don't make your own assumptions and carry them to wikipedia. And what's with reply or revert threat? A case of WP:OWN? Gnanapiti (talk) 22:36, 17 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
My response, is same as the one I have said in the first sentence of this discussion. WP:COMMONNAME. - KNM Talk 02:42, 18 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Preserving Neutrality[edit]

Divya Spandana (or Ramya) has announced that she is joining the Indian National Congress [1]. Naturally, her wiki-bio will witness an increased editing activity - mostly negative - by the opposition political party. (Even currently, the article isn't exactly neutral - this is apparent in the crude way some have tried to negate her successes by immediately appending something negative.)

To preserve neutrality, it would better if a section titled 'Criticism' (or something more appropriate) is also added as the article develops. 117.197.196.254 (talk) 21:31, 18 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

As far as I know, there aren't any criticisms against her due to her political activities. As such, Criticism section cannot be added until we find one. -BiLLa- talk 23:37, 31 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Early life[edit]

Hello. In the "Early life" section of this article I see a lot of stuff that in my opinion should be removed based on our WP:BLP rules: names of people who I am not sure have any fame, personal attacks... I really don't know much about the matter but after checking some of the sources I would propose to just write something like "There has been much public controversy about the identity of her biological father". Any thoughts? Biwom (talk) 17:44, 27 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Political career[edit]

The style of writing under the section of 'political career', "in 2016 she made controversial remarks about Pakistan", shows that it is edited by some Indian nationalist to vandalize the celebrity; by calling her positive remarks about people of Pakistan as 'controversial'. Please remove this or further edit it by inserting details.

What Ramya actually said? She said on returning from an official visitation to Pakistan that Pakistan was "not hell" - a response to the Indian Defence Minister, Manohar Parrikar, who had earlier said that going to Pakistan was the "same as going to hell". Ramya even said that Pakistanis were very much like Indians, and treated the visitors very well. Divya SpandanaRamya – As per Wikipedia rule WP:COMMONNAME, the article should be named after a person's common name, and thus the subject's screen name is to be entertained than her real name. Appu (talk) 20:53, 30 June 2021 (UTC) Appu (talk) 20:53, 30 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

– Not a clear WP:PRIMARYTOPIC for Ramya. Among the articles with given name, Ramya Krishnan garners 6x page views while Ramya Subramanian gets similar views. A google news search includes several results about other people named Ramya. Ramya (disambiguation) may be merged into the base article. -- Ab207 (talk) 14:37, 7 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Weak support "Ramya" alone does seem to refer to the actress more often, most Google hits are for her even if others get more views but I agree there isn't a clear primary topic. Crouch, Swale (talk) 17:54, 7 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support move. No clear primary topic. O.N.R. (talk) 18:52, 7 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
