Kirkpatrick's use of 16' and 4' registers.[edit]

I have removed the sentence "Less admirable is his frequent use of the 16' register, often in a bizarre combination with a 4' register and nothing else." It appears to be neither neutral nor verified research. Dmoerner (talk) 19:41, 31 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A bit more research reveals that the above sentence may have been sourced from Kirkpatrick himself, although in the context of his recordings of Scarlatti! Kirkpatrick said the following: "The unconscionable and absurd use of 16' and 4' in my recordings of 60 Scarlatti sonatas for Columbia was forced on me by the absence on the Challis instrument of an 8' with a tolerable sound."^[1] I won't add the sentence back in unless I can find an application to the WTC. Also, Kirkpatrick's quote is clearly qualified by the weakness of his instrument, an excuse which was missing from the old sentence. Dmoerner (talk) 00:06, 1 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
