Category Question[edit]

The article is listed in the video games with time travel category. Is this correct? Jasynnash2 (talk) 13:51, 4 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Technically, it is correct, as there is a flashback feature you can use to rewind several seconds if you make a mistake. It's not a central element to the gameplay, as it is in, say, Timeshift, but it is one of the features that separates it from other racing games. It's a stretch, but it isn't incorrect. Ferrariman60 (talk) 23:49, 5 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I thought they may be talking about the "flashback" feature. I was thinking that the category existed for games which had timetravel as a plot element though which is why I thought it may have been a mistake. Is there a "dictionary" of categories somewhere which explains what they should be used for? Jasynnash2 (talk) 07:55, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect[edit]

Why does Race Driver: GRID 2 redirect to this page? 87.194.40.167 (talk) 18:18, 11 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I guess because it's rumored, but if it's a rumor, it should be removed right? 89.249.0.170 (talk) 18:23, 13 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It is not rumored. The title is indeed in development (also using the Direct X 11 engine), but I guess due to the present amount of information, or lack there-of, no one is able to create a true standalone page for it. You'll note that there is only one edit on Race Driver: Grid 2 and it is the redirect. ⒺⓋⒾⓁⒼⓄⒽⒶⓃ talk 18:48, 15 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Reviews[edit]

Review You cant add more publications to the reviews box!!!

I'm just saying but this page is completely biased, as far as i can tell this game is rubbish and some poeple actually have the nerve to say this in reviews, i'm not trying to be biased but you have put so many on but only the ones that say it's a good game, actually first see if you can find a bad review and ALSO document that, cause i've seen plenty of reviews that are bad. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.0.114.242 (talk) 20:19, 3 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

As far as you can tell? I wouldn't make a habit out of judging games you haven't even played if I were you. If you've seen negative reviews of the game, why not edit the article to reflect these reviews? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.233.193.16 (talk) 23:07, 2 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

firstly i have played the game and secondly i just wanted to say that. Take TES4 it had plenty of reviews expressing it's bad points and givin it modest scores but people seem to only do the good ones. Mind you it was a good game and this is a good game. I just wanted to put across a point. take some movies that are rated on this a bad but plenty of people liked them. Critics don't always reflect pblic views, i don't have anything against this game, it's just a point. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.10.68.85 (talk) 22:12, 2 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Information[edit]

I added the car lists that I thought were relevant to the article and Downloadable Content sub-article and got deleted. Just wanted to know why? Thanks —Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.101.22.247 (talk) 03:24, 2 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

References for expansion[edit]

Reference failed verification[edit]

In the Downloadable content subsection there is a <ref> which links to http://www.codemasters.co.uk/news/?showarticle=12952. Unfortunately, this appears to redirect to the main Codemasters Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/codemasters. Presumably, at one time it didn't. Does anybody know of a new <ref> which can replace this one? HairyWombat 01:11, 9 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I see no proplem here. Just wait until they fully restore the website. Postwar (talk) 08:10, 9 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The link is still broken eight months later, so I think we can safely assume that it is not going to be restored. That is to say, there is a problem. Does anybody know of a replacement <ref>? HairyWombat 06:02, 5 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Arcade Port[edit]

In the article there is little or no mention of the arcade version released by Sega on the Europa-R arcade platform other than in the info box. There should be atleast some mention I believe and Sega's name should be added to the infobox as a publisher for the arcade version. --Usx9 (talk) 11:16, 4 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Race Driver: GridRace Driver: GRID

  • The proposer advances no reason for these changes of case to be considered merely technical. I suggest that they be reworked as one or more multiple moves, and presented for discussion. NoeticaTea? 03:08, 5 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Object needs full RM discussion, since it concerns MOS:CAPS. 70.49.124.225 (talk) 04:28, 5 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • I see no evidence that this GRID and DIRT or DiRT are acronyms. That they were typeset large and dramatic on the game labels to attract customers, does not affect letter case rules here. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 05:16, 5 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Proposed moves would be contrary to Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Trademarks. While I would support such a change to policy, this is the place to neither propose nor discuss it. HairyWombat 05:37, 5 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. As those above have noted, the proposed titles violate MOS:TM and MOS:CAPS. Jenks24 (talk) 09:12, 5 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment this Requested Move that was moved from Speedy is defective. It clearly should be using the proper multimove format. 70.49.124.225 (talk) 11:35, 5 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose the MOSTM is clear on issues like this and also a previous move request for the original Dirt was unsupported by anyone at Talk:Colin McRae: Dirt#Requested move and I am not aware of any rules changes since then that would invalidate that.--174.93.169.157 (talk) 18:13, 5 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I also noticed that the body of the article uses GrID, I believe that should be changed to Grid throughout due to the MOSTM.--174.93.169.157 (talk) 18:21, 5 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Also if that change it made it should also be done for the DS game.--174.93.169.157 (talk) 18:23, 5 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Mention the shutdown of multiplayer after 3 years?[edit]

https://www.dualshockers.com/codemasters-shuts-down-grid-online-servers/ There doesn't seem to have been many such quick shutdowns, which created some controversy at that time. --Tuxayo (talk) 19:23, 24 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
