Unification[edit]

Is it definite that the pure title is now a thing of the past? Are we sure that Danielson isn't going to just hold both and defend them separately? Tromboneguy0186 21:21, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If 2 titles are defended separately then I don't really think they should be considered unified. TJ Spyke 02:41, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well, as per Wikipedia's own article on the topic, "unification" can still refer to this scenario, like when Kurt Angle, Jeff Jarrett, and D-Lo Brown unified the Intercontinental and European titles in the WWF. Tromboneguy0186 08:57, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
In both of the definitions for wrestling, the titles are merged into one title. With the 3 wrestlers you listed the IC/Euro titles were not unified into 1 title, they were still seperate titles and thus not unified. TJ Spyke 21:12, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It's moot anyway, ROH has now come out and said there's only one singles title Tromboneguy0186 21:18, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
That's fine, they are just an indy fed and don't need more than 1 singles title. When/if they decide to try and become a major organization(which they will need a TV deal for) then I can see the need for more than 1 singles belt. TJ Spyke 21:22, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Here's the reference for the absorption of the title -

August 8th: The shocking announcement that there will only be one ROH singles title after this Saturday's Liverpool event has everyone talking. [1]

Title History[edit]

There Should be an annotation that AJ Style's Regin as Pure Champion is not officially recognized by Ring of Honor as it is not listed on their website's title history —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.139.78.62 (talk) 07:39, 9 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
