A new version of this article is under construction![edit]

RNA-directed DNA Methylation (RdDM) is a key epigenetic phenomenon within the plant kingdom, with connections to transposable element regulation, stress response, reproduction, and more. The current stub version of this entry could benefit from a significant expansion. Following an invitation from the PLOS Genetics Topic Pages initiative, we are preparing an expanded entry.
