This article is pretty small, so I think it would be better to merge these articles. Another option is to rename the papermaking article to Quality control system. FallingGravity (talk) 23:24, 20 July 2016 (UTC)

No. Paper Machine QCS are specialist control systems - a subsection of PLC and DCS computer control of a plant. They are completely unrelated to general "Quality Control" of generic manufacturing processes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 118.82.208.183 (talk) 06:47, 18 August 2016 (UTC)

  • Don't merge As 118.82.208.183 noted, Quality control system for paper, board and tissue machines describes an industry-specific application of quality control. This article should be about the general subject. For a real-world treatment of the subject, see any edition of Juran's Quality Control Handbook—he covers the general subject in the first two dozen chapters and then lays out a dozen or so industry-specific implementations of quality control in the final chapters. BTW, I've been researching the general topic for several years now and would like the opportunity to improve this article under the WP:DYK criteria. The challenge is that it's a massive subject and it's still going to take some time for me to get it going. DanielPenfield (talk) 07:06, 18 August 2016 (UTC)
  • I would agree, they should not be merged. They are related but not the same, perhaps add it to the see also section. JonasEe (talk) 16:36, 15 January 2017 (UTC)
