This article has been suggested for deletion because Wikipedia is NOT a how to guide.

In the general article on Writing Process, it describes Prewriting as, "Prewriting: planning, research, outlining, diagramming, storyboarding or clustering."

I wrote this article because while the general description might be accurate, the prewriting process can include many more steps and possible activities. The article wasn't meant to be a how-to guide but an article that would expand the definition into something more comprehensive.

I have edited it to include references and added two sections: Use of Technology; National and State Writing Tests.

Over time, I would like to expand the other sections about the writing process.
