Thanks for the suggestion. I removed "presumptive" and did not add "projected", instead saying that most sources are referring to him as president-elect. -- MelanieN (talk) 17:58, 11 November 2020 (UTC)

Joe Biden 2020 presidential campaign page redirect

I have noticed that the "Joe Biden 2020 presidential campaign" redirects here. This shouldn't be the case. For example, the Donald Trump 2016 presidential campaign page does not redirect to the Presidential transition of Donald Trump page. DanJWilde (talk) 18:36, 7 November 2020 (UTC)

The Draft wasn't that bad

I moved everything from the draft article. I was invited to. Feel free to pick it apart as much as you want, and if it winds up looking nothing like I conceived it, Great! The flailing of the outgoing administration is going to be a major part of the transition and the nightmare scenarios were a major part of the campaign.

The Title

I think the article should be titled "Presidential transition of Joseph R. Biden," as opposed to "Presidential transition of Joe Biden." This looks like a mistake, cannot find anywhere this man ran for president and as he was not notable enough (see 2020 democratic primaries )

Does the background info belong in this article?

Primus01 added a bunch of information about topics that are occuring in the world right now. While these are topics that Biden will have to deal with, I fail to see how they relate to his transition. He won't solve these issues during his transition, and I think this article should be limited to plans he makes, or people he appoints. Maybe they would be better placed in Presidency of Joe Biden, or even 2020 in the United States. —Naddruf (talk ~ contribs) 22:02, 10 November 2020 (UTC)

Opening section

The opening section is, frankly, syntactically nonsensical. I can't even tell what parts of it are trying to say. It also has some point of view issues in the parts that are discernible. I unfortunately can't edit to fix it. Proposed wording: Planning for the Presidential transition of Joe Biden officially began on June 20, 2020. The 2020 presidential election took place on November 3, 2020, and on November 7, 2020, the media projected Vice President Joseph Biden to be the presumptive winner. While Biden pushed to immediately move forward with the transition process, President Donald Trump had not yet conceded due to his team's ongoing ballot challenges and election litigation. Likewise, the General Services Administration, led by Emily W. Murphy, had not yet certified Biden as the apparent winner, blocking the transition team from key transition resources. -Miralvgc (talk) 08:41, 11 November 2020 (UTC)

POV Quotation Marks

Why the POV quotation marks around the word call in the first paragraph in Transition Procedures? Universalist2020 (talk) 14:22, 13 November 2020 (UTC)

I think the quotes may have been there to show that "call" is a term-of-art with a specific meaning in elections. I agree that it could be interpreted as scare-quotes though. I've changed that sentence to the following:

After the media projected Biden to win the election...

It's because Joe Biden was Obama's vice-president, so it definitely concludes that Biden's transition is part of the office of the President Elect. Billwang370 (talk) 20:27, 5 December 2020 (UTC)

We haven't reached consensus yet. Because Biden's transition is part of the transition of Obama's former vice-president, it should be made clear that Biden's ongoing transition is part of the Office of the President-Elect, like Obama before Trump was formally elected as the president. So can you all find the proper Biden transition logo with the Office of President-Elect on it and post it on Wikipedia? Billwang370 (talk) 03:18, 7 December 2020 (UTC)
