Specs[edit]

Which version of the F100 are the specs for? Dual Freq 18:43, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

P&W site link partially verifies the specs, mostly just dimensions. Only about half of them though. Dual Freq 21:24, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

F100-229 installed on F-15E's[edit]

There is an error in this article. The F100-PW-229 engines are installed on the F-15E Strike Eagle, and needs to be mentioned. Okedoke1234 (talk) 23:14, 15 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

impossible F-35 reference[edit]

"Using technology developed from the F119 and F135 engine programs for the F-22 Raptor and F-35 Lightning II,[4] the current production F100-PW-229 incorporates modern turbine materials, cooling management techniques, compressor aerodynamics, and electronic controls. The first -229 was flown in 1989" 1989 was years before the F-35 and F135 programs, even the wrong decade. I will edit this away. Lastdingo (talk) 20:25, 9 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It was poorly written, but that statement refered to the "current production" version, the Engine Enhancement Package, not the original 1989 version of the -229, as detailed in the cited source. Fixed. - BilCat (talk) 23:22, 9 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
