This article was created by moving the contents of "Porsche production numbers". There was no contents in the original Talk page except for my solicitation for objections on the move, which stood for over a month without any response. Yiba (talk) 03:35, 7 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Yiba:, when you moved Porsche production numbers to Porsche type numbers, why did you deselect the option "Move associated talk page"? This meant that Talk:Porsche production numbers was left behind instead of being moved here, which is rarely a good practice. --Redrose64 (talk) 11:38, 7 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, it usually is a good practice. In this case, the contents does not have anything relevant to the new article, and it may give an impression to beginners that the new article is being discussed for a move. You can still see the old Talk page by going to Porsche production numbers, which redirect you to the new article with "(Redirected from Porsche production numbers)", and you click on the "Porsche production numbers" on it. It will show the redirect page, and you click on the Talk tab on it.
This is one of the very reason the function was made optional. Yiba (talk) 01:28, 8 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
This was apparently the only page move that you have ever performed. I feel that the talk page should have been moved, so I shall ask the opinion of an expert in page history merging - Anthony Appleyard, do you think that the talk page histories should be merged? --Redrose64 (talk) 18:14, 8 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • There is nothing to history-merge. Talk:Porsche production numbers has only one edit, which is "This article under the title "Porsche production numbers" will be moved under the title "Porsche type numbers". If you have reasonable objections, please state them here. Yiba (talk) 03:17, 30 January 2014 (UTC)". There was no cut-and-paste move of the talk pages. I will add to Talk:Porsche production numbers a note saying that the move has now been done. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 22:33, 8 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
