speedy deletion[edit]

Dear Sirs,

The page marked as Pordata as been selected for speedy deletion. This page was created by me, while working for the organization in question. The content of this page refers to a database, of free use. This database belongs to a Foundation without lucrative intents, that provides a public service to its society.

All quotes have been identified, and its sources listed in the bottom. Its fairly objective, and whenever an opinion is made about the subject in question, the author of those words is quoted. It is an enciclopedic article, and a very complete one if I might add. It overlooks every aspect of this database and lists its benefits. If anybody wishes to complete this article saying otherwise, he or she is free to do so, without any kind of correction from our part.

Personaly I'm a regular user of Wikipedia, and I've found it pretty helpful in the past. I'm sure you can understand my point of view, and again I ask you to reconsider. If you still insist in deleting this page, I ask of you only that you give me some more specific guidelines as to how one should write an article of the sort.

Once again I remind you that we do not have any financial profit (or any other kind of income for that matter) from this project. We just want to inform people of the tools and potential of using this especific statistcs database.

Hoping for a speedy answer. Best regards, Bernardogaivao (talk) 15:26, 3 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You can be advertising or promoting something without having a financial interest in it, and as an employee of this organization you do have a financial interest anyway. That being said I do not believe that the article is so blatantly promotional as to warrant speedy deletion and I have declined the nomination. Beeblebrox (talk) 23:58, 5 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File:Pordata.png Nominated for speedy Deletion[edit]

An image used in this article, File:Pordata.png, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Copyright violations
What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request
