"Pooch" should be a disambiguation page[edit]

Pooch (disambiguation) should be merged into this one, or alternately, this page should redirect to Pooch (disambiguation). The first sentence of the disambiguation page should be:

Pooch is a colloquial term for a dog.

It seems to me that the only reason for not doing this would be if this change would be disruptive with a large number of internal links. I'll make this a formal "Request to Merge" soon. Peter G Werner (talk) 17:51, 25 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The reason for the current structure is that this is a disambiguation page with a primary topic. When people use the term pooch they are mostly going to expect to be linked to dog. If the other uses of the word pooch become so common, or the dog one so archaic, that it makes sense to move Pooch (disambiguation) to Pooch then a request to merge would be the route to go. But first you need consensus that redirecting to dog is no longer the primary topic for pooch, and even if you only canvassed cat lovers, I don't fancy your chances on that one.
