Origin of name[edit]

I could only find one full suggestion for the origins on the name Ponter's Ball. Another reference on Google books was only snippet view, but might be useful if anyone has access to the original publication: Notes and queries for Somerset and Dorset ..., Volume 35 Printed by J.
