Incubation[edit]

I originally converted a speedy to a prod on this for it being a dictionary definition. However, after further examination it appears to be a rather notable, distinct type of event (see [23]), so I brought it here. --ThaddeusB (talk) 00:39, 29 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Removed WikiProject Poker[edit]

Poker runs have almost nothing to do with the game of poker. There is no betting, and no bluffing, for example. There are in theory an infinite number of cards in the "deck". You ride to five locations and get a card at each one. Not an actual playing card -- it is just written down as a Jack of Spades or whatever. In some cases you pick your card by throwing a dart -- but poker runs have nothing to do with the game of darts, either. At the end of the day, the rules of poker are used to see who has the best hand. The route does not involve challenging navigation, or speed/time competition.

Poker runs are first and foremost and excuse to ride your motorcycle (with charity benefits added to class it up a little), and the poker (or dice) element is there as a means to hand out prizes at the end.--Dbratland (talk) 15:50, 30 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

OK, thanks for the explanation. --ThaddeusB (talk) 16:29, 30 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
