Consistency with Plough[edit]

The article Plough is titled with the British English spelling. One way or another shouldn't the titular spelling of that article and this be made consistent? SCRA5071 23:47, 25 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Did ploughs exist at the time of the Bible?[edit]

I would like the article to determine if this is a myth or the truth. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 195.24.29.51 (talk) 10:19, 22 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]

See plough for the history. Certainly ploughshares must have existed, or they wouldn't have been referred to in the (very well-known) quotes cited.
Also, from plough, is this:

The mouldboard, carried below the frame, is tipped with a share (also called a ploughshare), an asymmetric arrow-shaped device designed to slice through the ground horizontally as it moves forward.

which makes a great deal more sense of the quote, a sword being a similar shape to an arrow head!

Please, just pick one[edit]

It doesn't matter if it is "plow" or "plough" just pick one and stay consistent. And please, stop with the "plowing(ploughing)" business--it makes the article unpleasant if not impossible to read. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.111.89.79 (talk) 16:46, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
