If you enter

If you enter incorrect password for more than 3 - 4 times, the account gets locked for half hour to one hour. What I want to know is that is this facility given by PLESK Control Panel or is it dependent on the WebServer ? [ which is just controlled by the Plesk UI ] The Plesk software controls the timeout, not the server OS. However, here isn't the right place to discuss this. Try the SWsoft fora instead.

Seems NPOV to me

It is a factual reperesentation of the Plesk product, with historical insight into the development of software technology in a remote region of the world. I have been a Plesk user for less than 1 week, and have no fiduciary link to Plesk or any competitor.

NPOV

The article is factual and unbiased. Had there been / if there is a page for cPanel, it'd probably read similarly. I work for a company that resells Plesk, and not one word of it that I have read is untrue or undiscoverable by researching elsewhere via Google. In fact, although I am not the original author, I cannot think of any changes that will still convey a truthful description of Plesk. You write, "Please make changes," but then fail to offer ideas as to how to change it yourself. Remember this is a WIKI, and anyone can change anything at anytime.

NOT NPOV, Bad Style

This article badly lacks standards.

• An introductory sentence should read like "Plesk is the name of a computer program/software used in the internet industry"
• NPOV: XXX is something by YYY clearly is advertisement for YYY (that it is by YYY does not contribute to the meaning of XXX)
• NPOV: The text reads pretty much like copy and paste from sales literature (which normally doesn't present falsehoods (so is factual) but usually doesn't point out weaknesses, leaves much room for interpretation (how many thousands?, what exactly means 'manage'?, where is a link to the user's manual?) and thereby tends to support fallacies). NPOV is not the same as factual (or would anyone agree that "Sahara is one of the few places on earth where rain won't spoil holidays" is NPOV?)
• Relevance: why is XXX worth to be distinguished from web hosting automation solutions in general.
• Language/Style: The language used appears to address neither expert (no truly technical details are exposed) nor layperson (none of the technical terms is explained/paraphrased).
  • To your first two points, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows uses the same intro, so it seems fine to me.
  • Relevance: all the big 5 web control panels have wiki articles, Plesk is used a lot.
  • Language: Why would their be any technical details, this is an encyclopedia not a technical manual.

License?

This article doesn't discuss Plesk's license. It seems like a glaring omission. I added the word 'commercial' in front of the words 'web hosting application' to make this clearer. After reading Plesk's license agreement on SWsoft's homepage I am confident that the word is appropriate.

I am very annoyed. Sometimes when I try to go on the website known as Holby.tv, the following message appears:

However, the administrator's email address is none@example.com. It seems to me as if Plesk are nothing but a group of cyber-surfers blocking interesting sites for no reason whatsoever. Competing software - Proprietary vs. Open source alternatives

There should be a classification of competing software into proprietary and open source (/ free). E.g of the latter is OpenPanel.

Why would you add 'alternate software' to a page that has to do with Plesk itself? it is more likely to add alternate softwares into pages like 'web hosting' where you should give different alternative to the same solution. YifatAmichay (talk) 08:17, 1 August 2013 (UTC)
