Not sure who added the trivia points about the Grey Lady and the soccer player, but are there any sources that can be used as citations for them? If the soccer player cannot be identified, the point should be deleted. I hope the Grey Lady story is one of those things known to people at the College - if so it can stand, but if not it should be deleted, too. PKT 13:00, 2 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi PKT,

Per my edits -- I'm not sure who added those pieces of info. Just to restate -- the Grey Lady is a well established legend of sorts at the school, the school has published information about her and reprinted the photograph a number of times. It was never in my time there suggested that the identity of the face was known, and the picture is often cited as 'proof' of her existence. Probably not true but it's one of those interesting 'historical' factoids.

I removed the soccer player reference (I hope this is allowed) -- whoever added the Grey Lady reference also added that but without a name it doesn't really help any. Hopefully they'll come back with better refs.

I'm hoping you, I and other people watching/editing this wiki can keep an eye on it as PC, like other schools, has its share of 'vandals' who might want to wreck the article and embarrass the school.

Just FYI I should have the other references for my new additions up hopefully today.

Refs..[edit]

One more question -- I was told by Pickering-Ajax archives that any material I used from them simply needed to cite them as the source 'courtesy of..' --- is this in keeping with Wikipedia's standard? Or do I need to cite the individual article, original author, page, etc? PA Archives said I just need to cite them and nobody else really. Wanted to get opinion on that.

I can't help there - sorry. I haven't uploaded anything yet. PKT 22:52, 2 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Stray Numbers[edit]

Brad, I see several numbers appearing in the text that don't make sense where they are, eg "to surround them with all the moral influences and guarded care of a well-conducted home." 11" Are they there for a purpose - ie are you going to replace them with references/footnotes? I didn't want to touch them, knowing that you're continuing to work on the article. PKT 12:51, 13 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi PKT,

Yeah sorry -- I put them there so I would remember where I had to add a reference. Hoping to get that done this weekend. Have just been back and forth with the library trying to determine attribution. According to them, I need only cite the library's archives. From what I've seen elsewhere on wikipedia, they seem to have full attribution to the source, original author, etc. Trying to figure out how to proceed. I want everything to be 'proper'. Also am trying to make sure my copyright tags on images are correct. I goofed on a few.

The Big Hit[edit]

Brad, someone just added a bit in the Trivia section, "- Pickering College is also featured very briefly in The Big Hit, as the high school from which Keiko Nishi (played by China Chow), is kidnapped." I couldn't corroborate this, so if you can't either, feel free to delete it. PKT 21:00, 2 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
