Bio[edit]

It probably counts as "original research" or sume such Wikipedia silliness, but there is a biography from the man himself here: http://www.ktel.com/about.php Jbottero (talk) 02:54, 25 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I reverted the expansion of this article because the text added had an unencyclopedic tone and I was concerned it had been copied from somewhere—it has now been re-added. Lo and behold, the text appears to have been largely paraphrased from that bio article in that link from the K-tel website. The bio is written in the first person, and has been rewritten (almost verbatim) here in the third person. Not only is it full of superlatives such as "phenomenal", "Ever the survivor" and "brilliantly". At least the origin is referenced, but the paraphrasing is too close to a copyvio for comfort, I feel. --Canley (talk) 06:15, 4 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with Canley. Since I moved the draft to mainspace a lot of promotional language was added, which I have removed. If a salesman sells millions of something, this fact stands out by itself, without the need to include words like "genius". The section about K-Tel shouln't be expanded, because there is already and article about the company, where detailed information belongs. The Personal section is a little bare, though - did he marry? When? Where did he die? —Anne Delong (talk) 12:33, 4 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Canley, I have rewritten some material to remove paraphrasing. Do you think it's acceptable now?—Anne Delong (talk) 14:54, 4 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
So much better, thank you! --Canley (talk) 01:39, 5 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

How to pronounce his name?[edit]

How did he pronounce his name? To rhyme with "fives"? Or was it "Kee-vesh"? Or some other way? TooManyFingers (talk) 04:23, 22 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

There are several news stories reporting his death which pronounce it "Kee-vess". --Canley (talk) 09:48, 22 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
