Not sacked but resigned?[edit]

In a letter to the Independent newspaper, his son Myles who was an art teacher and House Master at Embley Park School, stated that his father had resigned after pressure by the BBC's board of governors:http://www.independent.co.uk/voices/letter-my-fathers-bbc-sacking-was-pragmatic-not-moral-1497575.html
The BBC would have been aware that Dolly might be a German honeytrap agent and were thus pressuring him to return to his wife for security and pragmatic reasons. Could the setting up of radio stations for the likes of Lord Haw Haw in Germany have resulted in his being shot for treason like William Joyce was? Did he ever find employment in England again after returning from Germany? Life must have been hard for his children with the divorce and the subsequent unemployment. His son Myles was my art teacher and House Master and I remember despite his poshness had an air of bitterness about him. Wool Bridge (talk) 20:11, 15 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Captain?[edit]

Where did the 'captain' bit come from? I assume he had a military background? Bob talk 09:07, 21 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
