Do Any One Know The Brand Of The Cat Or Dog Food That Is Bad......................

http://data.tennessean.com/DB/petfood2007/petfood2007.php searchable database of all recalled food and treat types --84.171.106.131 20:50, 15 April 2007 (UTC)

The article states that Pet Food is a 38 Billion Dollar industry - Is that the US Pet Food industry or the Global Pet Food industry? Of course, the US Industry is probably such a significant part of the Global industry that the question is academic. Pavium 12:07, 16 April 2007 (UTC)

Merge from cat and dog food

Way too much overlap. Combining non species-specific info here can cut down on wasted effort. Or maybe an article that combines cat and dog food. --165.21.154.88 (talk) 19:44, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

Excuse me, dogs and cats have different nutritional needs. Different pages please! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.229.202.222 (talk) 05:21, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

Merging isn't required. The problem is that someone wants to be too detailed in this article here when main articles for cat food and dog food already exist. The cat and dog food articles also need a little trimdown, and I'm going to do that once I'm done here. rubbrchikin(talk) 07:25, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Sales figures

US sales figures for 07-08. In case anyone wants to add it to the article.--Dodo bird (talk) 05:54, 12 November 2008 (UTC)

Historical Information?

If anyone can help with historical information, please do. It seems to me that the concept of "pet food" must almost certainly be a largely recent and western invention, and I'm sure there's much of interest particularly in the marketing history of pet food. The absence of such information here implies a disturbing cultural obliviousness. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.68.112.16 (talk) 17:13, 20 December 2008 (UTC)

It's more like a lack of interest in improving the article rather than cultural obliviousness. You can find the info here. Feel free to write it into the article. --Dodo bird (talk) 23:29, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
There is always a danger in using the industry's web site as the sole source of information since they claim that they represent 98% of the manufacturers of commercial pet food.[1]. Consumer sites and alternative sites probably offer additional and less biased information since their primary goal is not to promote the sales of pet food.
