Hey cool, I was just reading this, and then I realized I wrote it. Sweet! Great job on the picture, Ertua! —Keenan Pepper 03:16, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Merger proposal[edit]

I propose that Peroxyacetyl nitrate be merged into Peroxyacyl nitrates. I think that these articles currently overlap considerable and the information would be clearer if consolidated into a single article. NHSavage (talk) 15:48, 5 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I am currently working on a merger of the two pages User:NHSavage/Peroxyacyl nitrates so you can see what you think of it. At the moment, I am not happy with it, but that may change with more editing.--NHSavage (talk) 12:14, 10 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I don't like that idea.Peroxyacetyl nitrate is a very well known gas because it's a compoment of Photochemical Smog.I read about it in Chemistry for Dummies. 76.124.224.179 (talk) 19:33, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that peroxyacetyl nitrate is an important component of photochemical smog. However, many other peroxyacyl nitrates are also components of photochemical smog. They form in a similar way and play a similar role in tropospheric chemistry - they all can transport NOx from source regions to more remote locations where they produce more ozone than if they were not transported.--NHSavage (talk) 07:31, 27 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think it should be merged. It's true there's some overlap between Peroxyacetyl nitrate and Peroxyacetyl nitrates, but the article about the individual chemical seems important enough to be on its own. King Jakob C 18:52, 18 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
