Nespresso work

User:Snapplerocks, one cannot really "model" for a coffee company, per se. You can say that she worked in ads for Nespresso, and I've even found a source for you [here https://adage.com/article/news/nespresso-bets-penelope-cruz/238367]. But this statement does not belong in a sentence that is discussing her work in modeling clothing/cosmetics. In fact, I wouldn't really say it even belongs in the lead. So you found a source yourself and are still choosing to be condescending with me. Sorry, but I am not going to engage in an edit war with you. Nice try though.

Image dispute

@Tm: Seems like I have to be the mature one here and open up a discussion in order to avoid edit warring. Your claims that I "changed the original image, just for personal taste" is completely invalid, yet I can say the same for yourself as you keep only wanting to use images you have uploaded or altered. You were so hung on using the original image, and now you have finally used a cropped image, but only your version of the cropped, after I had already used one. I explained to you my changes while including Wikipedia guidelines as support, yet you continued to revert without valid basis. I honestly don't care what cropped version we use anymore, but I just want to point out the fact that all this could've been avoided if you just would've been mature from your part and not revert simply because you think you're right. I asked you to raise it on talk page and you ignored me, and continued to revert. I advise you to next time avoid this behavior or you will be given disciplinary action. How mature is your continues acts of uploading, in Commons, new versions over several original images and then revert them right away to the original one? Learn yourself some maturity, before preaching it to others. Tm (talk) 17:57, 20 June 2021 (UTC)

@Tm: The reason I did that was because I noticed you reverted the cropped version as well, so I decided to revert them back to the original one. I reverted the image one more time to the cropped version in order to create a different file of the cropped version of that same image, File:Penélope Cruz @ 2010 Academy Awards (cropped).jpg, and then once again I reverted to original version, yet for some reason you also reverted that image for no apparent reason when it was already back to the original version. Seems to me like you have a problem accepting differences from others. Only an immature person would respond that way. Film Enthusiast (talk) 18:05, 20 June 2021 (UTC)

Pronunciation

If the second surname is pronounced [ˈsantʃeθ] (as expected from someone born near Madrid), how come the first one is pronounced [ˈkɾuz], not [ˈkɾuθ]? Is this supposed to be a pun from the times when she lived with Tom Cruise? 89.64.70.33 (talk) 20:52, 15 September 2023 (UTC)

In this edit, a user introduced a glaring error into the Spanish IPA. It even goes agains the cited source in which Cruz says at 04:55 that her name is pronounced /kɾuθ/.

The English pronunciation change is however correct – there is not a single English source I could find that uses the Spanish pronunciation.

Therefore, please change the introduction to:

'''Penélope Cruz Sánchez''' ({{IPAc-en|k|ɹ|uː|z}} {{respell|KROOZ}}, {{IPA-es|peˈnelope ˈkɾuθ ˈsantʃeθ|lang}}

The native pronunciation presumably features a voiceless dental fricative given the upbringing of the subject. Cited source is an English-language video report/interview on CBS, mentioning the "actual" (presumably meaning the native one) pronunciation of her name at about 5 min 00 s. As expected, it indeed sounds like [kɾuθ], although I am no IPA expert myself. Current status of the introductory section seems to be a case of WP:SOURCEHIJACKING.--Asqueladd (talk) 16:51, 6 November 2023 (UTC)
I have thus recovered the former version for the time being. It has to be said that the video does not seem to cover the pronunciation of Sánchez, though, and so it may be advisable to restrict the IPA pronunciation to the given name and the first family name.--Asqueladd (talk) 17:12, 6 November 2023 (UTC)
Thanks! Since the native pronunciation is just completely standard Spanish I'm not a source is needed, although including that source there may indeed not be ideal. 157.157.113.133 (talk) 09:31, 7 November 2023 (UTC)
