Importance[edit]

for WPMED I was going to rate this article "low" because the article currently only defines the term. However, the topic has potential to reach "high" importance, if it addresses the history of patient education and theories concerning its purpose and, particularly, changing ideas about the role of the patient. --Una Smith (talk) 04:57, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Patient Education potentially of high importance[edit]

I agree, patient education "has potential to reach "high" importance, if it addresses the history of patient education and theories concerning its purpose and, particularly, changing ideas about the role of the patient." Current literature often addresses issues of health literacy; the use of technology, Internet, and social media to engage learners; and health coaching/motivational interviewing. Another advantage for patient education could be added into the overview section. Based on a Cochrane Review, patients health-related quality of life can be enhanced with patient education EBPNursing (talk) 02:45, 19 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Editing Suggestion of Updating Citations[edit]

While examining this article, I was informed of extra training needed to continued with editing this article. Within the training, it stated that the sources used in citations must be within the past 5 years to ensure that the health information is accurate for readers and many of the citations I have seen through this article no longer fall within the 5 year limit.
