native translation[edit]

Since the title of the article is "Pashtun Zarghun District" not just "Pashtun Zarghun", the local name should include ولسوالی which means district. The second point is that Pashtun Zarghun in Pashto is written as "پښتون زرغون" not "پشتون‌ زرغون". Therefor, Tajik's edit should be reverted. (Ketabtoon (talk) 00:06, 26 October 2009 (UTC))[reply]

That is problematic, because you have chosen only to write the Pashto name in the box. The region is not Pashtun in majority (at least I have not come across a site claiming a Pashtun majority). The most neutral way is to write simply "Pashtun Zarghun", because it's the same in both Persian and Pashto. The article should be expanded anyway, because "Pashtun Zarghun" is not the local, native name, but was changed from Persian "Posht-e Zerghun" ("Zirghun" is the Herati pronunciation of "Zirghan", a larger region farther west, in Iran around Nishapur) to "Pashtun Zirghun" during Muhammad Daoud Khan's Pashtunization policies. The title of the article is "Pashtun Zarghun District" so in Pashto it should be written as "پښتون زرغون ولسوالی" and in Dari as "ولسوالی پشتون‌ زرغون". You are welcome to expand the article and add the history of the name change (keep it neutral), however, the official name of the district IS "Pashtun Zarghun".
