common names[edit]

I've removed the common names from the intro:

  • butterfly corner assigns the common name "Peacock" to Papilio blumei.
  • So does our own article on that species.
  • Our article for Papilio blumei also claims the name "Green Swallowtail" for that species.
  • The butterfly corner does not disagree; in particular, it does not assign the name "Peacock" to P. bachus and it does not assign the name "Green Swallowtail" at all. No other source disagrees either.
  • P. blumei has bright green stripes on its back. There are no green stripes, green spots, or any other green features on either side of P. bachus. Both upper side and underside of P. bachus are black, brown, and orange. If they have any bright marks on them at all they are yellow.

I conclude that both common names belong exclusively to the other species. They have must been added to this article as a result of some sort of mixup. Noym (talk) 05:40, 25 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
