Survival in China to 3,000 years BP[edit]

Someone with more time available (I'm at work) may want to incorporate information in and traceable through this BBC report published 19/12/12. {The poster formerly known as 87.81.230.195} 84.21.143.150 (talk) 15:10, 19 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Palaeoloxodon closest relative isn't the Asian elephant[edit]

2016 DNA sequence analysis shows that Palaeoloxodon antiquus's closest extant relative is actually the African forest elephant, L. cyclotis. In fact, it is closer to L. cyclotis than L. cyclotis is to the African bush elephant, L. africana.[1] Somebody with better editing skills than mine should make the appropriate changes.
