Naming of Sylmar station

This article and Sylmar talk about "Sylmar" and "Sylmar East", but Sylmar Converter Station talks about "Sylmar A" and "Sylmar B". Could somebody who knows please clarify the naming?

Proposed Page Move

I will create a new page named Pacific AC Intertie in the future, so in order to not mix up Pacific Intertie with Pacific AC Intertie, I will move the page to the new title Pacific DC Intertie. I think Pacific DC Intertie is also the more precise name of this DC 500 kV power line, not Pacific Intertie. Skyscraper Phoenix 00:34, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

That looks to be correct terminology according to the BPA. Except they sometimes call it the Pacific HVDC Intertie. —EncMstr 02:00, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
If there are no objections to this page move, then I will move the page tomorrow. Skyscraper Phoenix 06:35, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

Article suggestions

  • Add information about the system transmission efficiency, and compare and contrast with an equivalent AC intertie.
  • Add information about northerly power flow: when does it occur? how much? what is the northerly capacity? —EncMstr 23:30, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

Special pylons?

Are there some special pylons in Pacific DC Intertie, like crossing pylons or long distance pylons? Is it correct, that on some parts of it towers carrying only one conductor are used? Is the electrode line an underground cable or an overheadline? In latter cases some picture of its towers should be added?

Ocean Grounding

What is the source material for the specs on the ocean grounding electrodes? 06:05, 18 November 2007 (UTC) ID failed to appear 06:06, 18 November 2007 (UTC) Another attempt at ID LorenzoB (talk) 06:07, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

It is described here. —EncMstr 06:29, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
