General organization[edit]

Just wanted to note that I dropped the text from the head of this talk page to the bottom, since it's disorganized (and some of it was pasted in twice). Also, I just reverted the article from the last edit, in which someone anonymously changed the article to say that Pallett is dating Ed Droste from Grizzly Bear (which to my knowledge isn't true). Absent any source substantiating that, I've restored the text about his boyfriend. Anthony Mohen (talk) 04:54, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

band NAME[edit]

"Pallett is best known as the principal member of the band Owen Pallett (formerly "Final Fantasy") which is essentially a solo project" I find this sentence pretty awkward. Fair use rationale for Image:Les mouches.jpg[edit]

Image:Les mouches.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. Hey Dad[edit]

Final Fantasy recently (October '07?) released a 7" on Tomlab's Alphabet Single series (X). The two tracks on X, recorded in Montreal with Zach Condon, predate the tunes on the full-length. The tracks - "Hey Dad" and "What Do You Think Will Happen Next?" are both live regulars, though, so they should be at least semi-familiar to Final Fantasy fans. I noticed a while ago that the song "Hey Dad" contained a melody borrowed from the video game "Super Mario Brothers 3" ; specifically it is the music from the "Coin Heaven" bonus/hidden stages. Also, the song is quite similar in melody and lyrics to another of Pallett's songs - "→". Both songs seem to concern interpersonal relationships within the family of President George W. Bush. There is no reason. It's purely because of the website. Sorry.

Yeah, just to add some weight to that: the website is the only reason the Blocks Recording Club is called blocksblocksblocks. If we could arrange for it to ALWAYS be referred to as the Blocks Recording Club, that'd be super!Blocks.recording.club 20:04, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the fact that, according the web site, there are technically two members of Final Fantasy: I have created redirects here from both Final Fantasy (band) and Final Fantasy (artist). Clarifacation of discography[edit]

I realize most of the information is elsewhere in the article, but should the discography be amended make some distinctions between Owen Pallett's projects, bands he's been a member in and albums that have been essentially work for hire?

His credit for the Last Shadow Puppets is listed as 'personnel' and including the discography as is doesn't make it clear how important he is/ isn't to these projects.Kreechur (talk) 17:22, 31 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Pronouns[edit]

I just edited the article to use their pronouns (they/them/their). I may have made a mistake somewhere. There are plenty of sources for those pronouns, but am not adding a line in the wikipedia page about them because they have chosen to not yet make an overtly public statement about it.
