Wiki Project[edit]

I'm a student at Georgetown University. For Theorizing Culture and Politics class, I'm doing a Wikipedia Project on the topic I chose, which is Osaka Gakuin University in Japan. I'm willing to develope more specifically on the English page. It will be done during the course of few weeks from now, thereby, will be updated little by little. Just getting you alerted that I'm getting started on this. Ysshim (talk) 18:38, 15 October 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ysshim (talkcontribs) 18:19, 15 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your article is informative and well-written, but I'm noticing two primary issues.

Firstly, your article seriously lacks in-article "wikilinks" (fancy wikipedia term for cross-references).

Secondly, and FAR more importantly, it doesn't utilize any in-article citations and lacks a reference page. The reference page and in-article citations are crucial to lending credibility to your page and preventing outside editors from messing your page up (as you can prove their information is incorrect via your references).

Ideas for Wikilinks/Cross References

  • Suito, Japan
  • law, economics, international studies
  • distribution and communication sciences
  • Business administration
  • all the majors
  • Phoenix Festival
  • Phoenix Open Seminars
  • Kishibe Festivals
  • all the notable graduates

You can basically wikilink/cross-reference any proper noun or important term/concept in your article.

Other Random Notes

  • in the sections for Business Administration and Distribution and Communication Sciences, adding examples of noteworthy case studies or listing a few of the "specialized theories" students explore will serve to expand them more
  • expand each event in the events section, especially ones that aren't self-explanatory like the Phoenix events and the Kishibe Festivals
  • is MELOP an acronym for something? Since it's always typed in all caps, I'm assuming it is. Please let your readers know what it stands for, if anything.
  • Porno graffiti? LOL!
  • good job on wikilinking OGU's partner
  • overall, the article is very concise, succinct, and well-organized. It just needs more cross-references and, most importantly, citations within the article.

Good amount of information and great organization. The lists are useful. Paints a clear picture of the university and university life. Things to address: 1) One thing missing is the degree/s students can receive upon graduation. Are they BAs and BSs, or some other kind of 4 year degree? In other words, does Japan have a totally different system or the same one? That info should be clear to a reader here. It is clear that some of the degrees are graduate degrees, but are the MA/MBA/JD/PhD or ? 2) As Ace of Raves says above, the entry needs cross-references to other wikipedia pages and it needs a lot of them. Ace of Raves has made a good list to start with. Radavis147 (talk) 18:48, 23 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
