On Ofir Libstein’s Wikipedia page, his cause of death is referred to as: On October 7, 2023, Libstein was killed in an exchange of fire with members of Hamas who entered from the Gaza Strip.[2]

I am contesting this weak language. He was not killed in an “exchange of fire,” he was killed in a brutal terrorist attack by terrorists who also murdered his 19 year old son and 1200 other innocent civilians on Israeli soil.

We should change “On October 7, 2023, Libstein was killed in an exchange of fire with members of Hamas who entered from the Gaza Strip” to “Ofir Libstein was the head of municipality of the Sha’ar HaNegev Council, a regional council that represents 11 communities in the area. Libstein resided in Kfar Aza and was murdered in the 10/7 massacre of 1200 civilians and abduction of 250 hostages by Hamas terrorists.” Shirajkaplan (talk) 15:22, 22 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: Source needed for regional council. I didn't implement the second one because it seems less than neutral. However, I did change the wording to be a bit less euphemistic. ARandomName123 (talk)Ping me! 15:33, 22 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you.
if you Google Ofir Libstein Shaar HaNegev you’ll see - link above mentions it Shirajkaplan (talk) 15:44, 22 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I appreciate the edit, but “members of Hamas” feels weak. Hamas is a terrorist group. To be a member of Hamas, you are by definition a terrorist.
There are plenty of of other pages that do call out attacks like this as terrorist attacks. For example 9/11… I can send more examples, I just think it’s euphemistic to call them “militants” or “political party members”… Shirajkaplan (talk) 15:52, 22 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

notability[edit]

it seems like this person was not notable for any reason, except the day they died. this should probably be deleted or moved into the main article somehow. 814jjs (talk) 13:12, 5 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This is a biographical article about a notable individuale, with reliable and diverse sources, and is available in other languages as well. Besides that, @814jjs see what I wrote to you on the talk page.Eladkarmel (talk) 06:53, 6 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
