Same engine?[edit]

Hey, I started this conversation to talk about engine picture problem. And you said it's not this car's engine. But the sources say it is. So I think it's belongs here. Game for Game (talk) 13:27, 18 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If you cannot agree we can add this picture which has the Nissan Logo

Caption says "Nissan Z's VR30DDTT engine." It literally isn't. It is a VR30DDTT engine, but not Nissan Z's. We shouldn't settle for the same engine from another car, because it's misleading. Just patiently wait for the actual VR30DDTT engine in the Nissan Z engine bay. Andra Febrian (talk) 13:34, 18 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Chassis code?[edit]

Is it true that it's still Z34? I must confess I find that a bit hard to believe, even if much of the structure is unchanged from the 09-20 car. Was it explicitly mentioned in the livestream reveal? Carguy1701 (talk) 18:03, 18 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Actually not mentioned explicitly, but we can wait for the Japanese Nissan website to confirm it. 182.29.15.211 (talk) 09:43, 3 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I can accept that. I've seen multiple people on social media (admittedly not the greatest source) calling it the Z35 and this was the first instance I've seen of anyone calling it Z34. Carguy1701 (talk) 20:59, 3 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
According to Nissan's Japanese website, the code IS RZ34. Huh. Guessing the R is for revised. Carguy1701 (talk) 01:16, 27 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Page should be renamed to Nissan Z (RZ34) to not be confused with with the standard Z34 chassis. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.121.135.229 (talk) 21:44, 19 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Article tone[edit]

To me this article reads more like a sales brochure or a press release than an encyclopaedia article. I removed the largely irrelevant "marketing" section but the rest of the article probably needs to be cleaned up at some point too. I lack familiarity with sources from regions where this car is sold so I wouldn't really know where to look to improve this article, but I feel it suffers from an issue I see in many car articles where the sourcing is mostly motoring news sources reporting on announcements by a manufacturer rather than more in-depth reviews. Rename page to Nissan Z (RZ34)[edit]

Nissan has confirmed that the chassis code for the new Z is RZ34, not Z34. As such this page should be renamed to reflect this and to avoid confusion with the actual Z34.[1] Mercennarius (talk) 13:54, 22 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. Gimme a minute. Carguy1701 (talk) 21:21, 22 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Is it necessary to name this article as "Nissan Z (ZR34)"? Why we cannot keep it as just "Nissan Z"? Just like the GT-R, the article is named as just "Nissan GT-R" and the codename, "R35" just stays inside the article without being in the article title. I think it will be better in my my opinion. Waiting for a quick reply. XT RedZone (talk) 12:52, 5 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

There already is a Nissan Z article (albeit titled Nissan Z-car), the one that touches on every generation of the car. Carguy1701 (talk) 16:57, 5 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It's "Nissan Z-car" right? It won't be a problem to rename this as just "Nissan Z" right? XT RedZone (talk) 17:21, 5 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It would be too easy for a reader to not understand the difference between Nissan Z (assuming it was changed to point to this article) and "Nissan Z-car" - especially a younger reader not familiar with the older generations or even the existence of the older generations. If you look at other series of articles covering multiple generations, you will see that it is our policy to add a generation code at the end of each individual article in the series, hence the RZ34 at the end.  Stepho  talk  22:59, 5 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Got it, I understand. XT RedZone (talk) 05:39, 6 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
