Anyone know the difference between the SR20DE blacktop and redtop and silvertop/normal engines? We should have that on here.

The U13 Bluebird SSS appeared with both, and oddly enough, the KA24DE in Australia. The SR20DET model of the U13 SSS is properly known as the SSS ATTESA. AKADriver 19:09, 8 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There IS an SR20DE with 125PS. (look for example in the G20 article) and this engine is sometimes called SR20De! And the SR20DE with 140/150/160PS is the GT-Spec. version.

The SR20De produces 116 hp and later 131 hp!

Not by any reliable source I've seen. There's no lowercase e in Nissan engine codes. That's the SR20Di you're thinking of, which is already listed.

The "first" SR20DE in the P10 eGT produces 150hp andlater 143hp in the Almera GTI (N15) and at last only 140hp in the P12, i think .

Engines[edit]

Blacktop is like a better performance model, included in the SSS Bluebirds. However from the SSS 91 Bluebird I have seen, it is only black in and around the spark plug valley. Not the whole rocker cover. I am not sure what makes it better performance however it is not turbo.

From what I have seen Black does not mean turbo unless it is in the Silvia.

Redtop engine is always turbo. IE SR20DET as used in the Pulsar GTi-R and, Bluebird SSS Attesa Limited. Red top in not always Turbo, but may be Turbo. In England the red top was used in the 2.0 e GT Primera. This was a multi point fuel injected engine. The silver top was a single point fuel injected variant.

Silvertop s14 silvia non turbo cars had varriable intake timing and were called sr20de is the normal SR20DE.

Attesa simply means the 4WD system used - does not mean turbo. However the Nissan Bluebird was released in a 4WD model ([2000]SSS Attesa, ARX-G Attesa, EEX-L Attesa and other variants) and a 4WD turbo model (the Bluebird [2000]SSS Attesa Limited)

Bear in mind I am from New Zealand so I have only seen Australian import, New Zealand made, and Japanese import models.

I myself own a 1994 ARX-G Attessa (Silvertop) and my friend owns a 1991 Bluebird SSS Attesa V (Blacktop [around the spark plug valley])

The "-top" names are only for turbocharged variants - see the Nissan SR20DET main article. They're just enthusiast nicknames anyway - if you want to be specific, just say what car it came from and all will be clear.
Early US SR20DEs also came with black paint in the spark plug valley, these are still properly "silvertop" if you choose to use those names.

I think the SR20VET has more than 280 hp! This "Gentlement Agreement" does not give it any longer!!

SR16VE N1[edit]

As far as I am aware, the SR16VE N1 had only 500 examples produced, 200 Serie 1 and 300 Serie 2 Pulsar VZ-R. The "redtop" version, where the non-N1 had a bluetop. My source cannot be cited tho, since I found this out some time ago, when I got my own Pulsar VZ-R N1 Serie 1. There is also a question where is article contradicts the main Pulsar article, where is says in the N15 section about the N1, "Producing 200 PS from its 1.6 L SR16VE engine, it claimed the highest specific output for a production car prior to the introduction of the Honda S2000." --Preveen 18:27, 17 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If the Honda F20C has 2L it has 125PS/L. And if it has 1,997 L it has 125,2 PS/L. The SR16VE N1 has 125,3 PS/L. It´s a very little difference, but the SR16VE N1 has more! ;)

sr20/16ve main bolts[edit]

The SR20VE section appears to be self contradictory[edit]

The section on the SR20VE seems to be mixing up whether its power values are in imperial horsepower (hp) or metric horsepower (PS). This is evidenced by the fact that it initially states the engine produces 190 PS but then in the section that shows the models it was used in lists the power for 3 out of the 4 entries as 190 hp. --TKOIII (talk) 16:44, 11 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
